What We Did
The Landlord purchased the property blind at auction, and when he got the keys to the property, it was in a dangerous state. Everything had been ripped out, including all plumbing and electrics, and left unsafe. Chimneys had been removed, and the floors above were not correctly supported; the stairs were unsafe to use as they collided. The timber floor had been removed and backfilled with 20 tonnes+ of rubble. Incorrect RSJ support had been used for a knock-through and didn’t fit correctly.
About this Project
First and foremost, the property needed to be made safe. The floors were supported where chimneys were removed, the stairs were made safe until they could be replaced later in the project, and all gas, electricity and water were capped appropriately. From there, work could begin to remove the rubble in the floors and bring the ground floor back to a state where we could work.
